The Balance of Banners and Content
To be successful in affiliate marketing, the website of the affiliate should have a balance between banners and content.  Without this balance, the affiliate marketing will not provide the projected income.

In affiliate marketing, the affiliate must immediately set up a website.  This website becomes his major instrument in promoting the products or services of the online business to which he is affiliated.  Without the website, the affiliate has no effective means in advertising and promoting the online business.  But, like other marketing instruments, the website must be well-constructed so that it will be effective.

How should an affiliate’s website be constructed so that it will appear professional and at the same time attractive?  If the affiliate can afford to have it professionally done, then he should have his website built by experts in web design.  But, even if the website is professionally created by others, the affiliate is still the one person who must decide what should be included in it.  After all, the income that will be generated because of the website will go to the affiliate.

What must be found in the website of the affiliate?  Two major things must be found in the website so that the practice of affiliate marketing will be successful.  These are the banners and the contents.  The banners are the links that must be clicked by the visitor so that this visitor will be redirected to the homepage of the online business which is being promoted by the affiliate.

The banners should be attractive and should clinch the process of convincing the visitor in knowing more about the products or services.  Unfortunately, many affiliates make the mistake of relying too much on the banners.  What consequently happens is that the website of the affiliate has too many banners.  This makes the practice of affiliate marketing ineffective. 

Affiliate marketing cannot be carried out by using banners only.  There should also be informative content in the website.  This informative content is the one that will increase the traffic towards the website of the affiliate.  And this information-laden content is the one which is sought by visitors.

The affiliate should remember the major reason why people surf the Internet in the first place.  People wanted to look for information.  Such information should be found in the contents or articles of the affiliate’s website.  If such information is found, the visitor will spend more time in the website.  With more time spent, the chances of that visitor proceeding to the homepage of the home business increases.  This equates to the conversion of visits to income for the affiliate.

Therefore, the website of the affiliate should contain useful information that will encourage the visitor to learn more and click on the banner.  The number of banners should be limited to one or two.
